This 100 kva distribution 13.8 kv pole transformer has a rated capacity of 100 kVA. The primary side voltage is 13800V (in delta connection), and the secondary side voltage can be 120/240V, 240/480V or other customization voltage. This transformer can be connected to a three phase power grid system to provide low voltage power to the distribution system.

1.The fuse is selected based on 2 to 2.5 times the rated current of the 100 kva distribution 13.8 kv pole transformer's high voltage side (approximately 7.25 A). It is recommended to use a 15 to 20 A drop out fuse to reliably avoid the excitation surge current during the closing operation (usually 8 to 12 times the rated current, lasting within 0.1 seconds), while ensuring that the transformer can quickly melt and isolate in case of short circuit or overload inside the transformer. 

2.The lightning arrester is selected as a gapless zinc oxide (MOV) type with a rated voltage of 15 kV or 18 kV, installed on the high voltage side between the fuse and the 100 kva distribution 13.8 kv pole transformer bushing.

3.Its grounding terminal is directly connected to the grounding terminal of the transformer's casing to absorb lightning strikes or operational overvoltages and limit residual voltage. The grounding protection requires the 100 kva distribution 13.8 kv pole transformer's neutral point to be directly grounded (depending on the system grounding type, such as TN C or TN S), and the grounding terminals of the casing and the lightning arrester share a single grounding electrode. The power frequency grounding resistance should not exceed 10Ω in rural power grids or 4Ω in urban and high-reliability areas, thus achieving the safe discharge of fault current and protection of personnel and equipment.
