3 Phase Step Up 100kva Copper Amorphous Alloy Transformer

Established in 2006, Wenzhou XiFa Electric Power Equipment Co., Ltd is a enterprise specializing in the production, research, sales of amorphous alloy transformers, such as 3 phase step up 100kva copper amorphous alloy transformer. We are always focus on supply high quality products at competitive prices. In the meantime, we have received some authoritative certifications including UL,CE,CCC. In terms of service, we offer prompt responses 24 hours a day. From product selection to delivery of the products to the customers, we will provide all the guidance and tracking services.

3 phase step up 100kva copper amorphous alloy transformer can be divided into two types: oil immersed type and dry type. The oil immersed transformer adopts the ONAN cooling method. While the dry type distribution transformer uses natural air cooling or forced air cooling to dissipate heat generated during operation. Adequate ventilation and smooth airflow are crucial for dry type distribution transformers to prevent overheating and maintain high operational efficiency of the transformers.

The core of  amorphous alloy transformer is made of iron based amorphous alloy strips. The thickness of the steel strips is only 0.02 to 0.03 mm. It is produced through the rapid cooling process of molten steel. The internal atoms are arranged in an irregular amorphous pattern without the grain structure of silicon steel. This significantly reduces the hysteresis loss and eddy current loss from the material's fundamental source.

Thanks to amorphous alloy transformer ‘s energy saving design, the entire system's efficiency far exceeds that of ordinary silicon steel distribution transformers. Even if the equipment operates continuously without interruption throughout the year, it can significantly reduce operating and maintenance electricity costs by minimizing iron loss. It is the preferred equipment for distributed new energy power stations at overseas engineering sites.

Q: When using 3 phase step up 100kva copper amorphous alloy transformer, what are the significant differences in their magnetizing inrush current characteristics compared to traditional silicon steel sheet transformers?

A: Compared with traditional silicon steel sheet transformers, the magnetizing inrush current characteristics of the amorphous alloy transformer show significant differences: Due to the lower saturation magnetic flux density of amorphous alloy, approximately 1.55T, lower than that of silicon steel sheet's 1.75T, and higher residual magnetism, approximately 0.7 to 0.8, the peak of its excitation inrush current can reach 10-15 times the rated current (while for traditional silicon steel sheet it is 5-8 times). In the meanwhile, the decay time constant of the inrush current is longer, and the harmonic content, especially the second harmonic, is also significantly increased. These characteristics make the 3 phase step up 100kva copper amorphous alloy transformer more prone to deep saturation when closing the switch, generating higher and more persistent impact currents. This not only increases the risk of incorrect tripping of upstream circuit breakers and fuse blowouts, but also may cause mechanical stress damage to the impact sensitive amorphous alloy core.

Therefore, special design and operation strategies such as phase selection closing, adjusting protection settings, and selecting CTs with stronger anti saturation capabilities are required.
